Why sugar is added to juices
Sugar is often added to enhance flavor, extend shelf life, and improve texture. Many fruit juices lose their natural sweetness during processing, especially when diluted or stored for long periods. Added sugar helps maintain a consistent taste, but it also increases calorie content and reduces the juice’s health benefits.
